Don't you just love the new Core'dinations Card Stock, currently found in the 2012 Holiday Catalog? It comes in three different colors:
CHERRY COBBLER 127846
EARLY ESPRESSO 127848
GUMBALL GREEN 127847
One side is textured and the other side is smooth with the inside layer revealing a monochromatic color of a lighter shade. The inside can be revealed either by tearing, distressing or sanding, which I will be showing you here.
To create the "sanded" look, you'll need the Stampin' Sanding System. Sanding Block (129367), refills (129368) and Core'dinations Dust Buddy (129366).
BTW, you may have noticed the the newer Textured Impressions Embossing Folders are a little longer in length. This new size makes it impossible to put through your Big Shot "sideways". So, so start this tutorial, here's how to resolve that issue...
Using your Craft and Rubber Scissors (103179), you can easily just cut that "excess" away, as shown here:
Now you can run your folder through your Big Shot in the direction you choose to, as I've done with the sample shown for this tutorial., with the Woodgrain ((127821) folder.
Okay, now that I've run my Core'dination Card Stock through my Big Shot, I'm ready to show off that woodgrain design.
Very simply, rub your Stampin' Sanding Block (129367) directly over the design.
When you're done sanding, use your Cord'dinations Dust Buddy (129366). It's a tacky cloth which easily picks up any debris left behind.
Here's a close-up of the "before" and "after" look. Personally, either one would work for me. However, I do love the way the inside core color really "pops" after the design's been sanded. Don't you?
Here are a few more fun samples using this wonderful card stock.
