CHAPSTICK FAVOR WITH THE MATCHBOX DIE

Mixing up the old with the new.  What a fun way to give Chapsticks way as a little token of friendship or as a party favor.  The Matchbox Bigz XL Die (#114890) is the perfect fit for three Chapsticks covered with one of the new upcoming Designer Series Papers that will be out in June.  The bird stamp is just a little sneak peek of one of the new stamp sets that will also be available to order beginning June 1, 2012 from the new catalog.  It is so exciting!!!

ANOTHER BIG SHOT DIE FAVORITE IS ALSO RETIRING

The Matchbox Bigz EX Die (#114890) is yet another one of my favorites that's in the Accessories Retirement List.  It's one of those fun boxes that's great to make as party favors.  Mark (my daughter's long time boyfriend) was teasing me the other day saying, "You and your nuggets!" - Excuse me?!?  Ha!  Ha!

Well, yes, I do love "my nuggets"!  Not only are they yummy chocolates, but they're just so perfect for fitting into not only the "Bitty Box", SHOWN HERE, but also the Matchbox as shown below.

Once again, the stamps used for the labels are from the It's a Wrap Occasions (w - 123590  c - 123592) stamp set, as shown in THIS POST.  I love using the Window Sheets (#1143230) and stamping with the White Staz-On ink (#106960) for the slider, as shown for the box at the bottom of the picture.

BOX #2 DIE RETIRING IN 2 WEEKS

What a fun idea by using of the boxes, leaving the top flaps up and attaching them back to back, as you can see in this next picture.  Then using the Large Oval Punch to create the "handle".

The Hershey Nuggets were covered with address labels stamped using the "It's A Wrap Occasions" stamp set (w - 123590   c - 123592).  Did you know the address labels that come 30 to a sheet are the perfect size to stamp this set on as well as wrap perfectly around the nuggets?  Think of of the fun you can have with this stamp set, shown here.

EVERYTHING ELEANOR WINDOW SHEET CARD

Everything Eleanor, you ask?  What is that?  Well... it's the name of a new stamp set that will be available beginning June 1st. 

Here's a lovely card I've created using some of the stamps from Everything Eleanor (w - 124162  c - 124164).  White Staz-On ink (106960) was used to stamp directly onto our Window Sheets (114323) and the other elements then attached onto both the inside and the front of the card.

BTW, I also used one of our new 2012 - 2014 In-Color Stampin' Pads (*Summer Starfruit - 126991) with the new formulation for the first time.  Wow!  Love these new pads!  But, remember, they won't be available until June 1st.

MY DIGITAL STUDIO WEDDING PAGE

Have you gotten your FREE TRIAL of "My Digital Studio Express" yet?  If you have, then you'll know how minimal it is for creating "WOW" projects, but it'll at least give you an idea of how to get the feel for creating with it.  It's a pretty intuitive program.  I have to admit, when I first purchased my full version of it seemed to take me forever to make my first page.  And that was by using one of the pre-made templates.  Ha! Ha!  For me personally, it does take some time to learn things on the computer.  But, look at me now!  I have to admit, I am quite proud of myself.  I do have to give some credit to "My Digital Studio" though.  With all it has to offer, all you have to do is "play" and your projects will start coming to life!  Later this year it will be even better when "My Digital Studio 2" comes out!  I can hardly wait!

GOTTA GET "BACK TO BUSINESS"

As I'm sure you may have noticed in the past couple weeks leading up to this past Friday, I mentioned my niece getting married.  She and her "now husband" (she loves the sound of that!) had a beautiful wedding.  I showed you the "name cube" and favors I made.  CLICK HERE and HERE to see what I'm talking about.  She also had a "wishing tree", which, I never heard of until she told me they wanted to have one her wedding.  So, she found the tree and we made the tags.

For those of you who may not be familiar with what I'm talking about, I guess it's the latest thing for weddings these days.  As guest arrived at the reception they would write what their wishes are for the newly married couple on the tags and then hang them on the tree.  Pretty cool, don't you think?

Here's a close up of the poem instructing guest as what to do. 

I actually messed up and left the word "hang" out.  We all must have been really, really tired when I made it, because we all looked at it after I printed it out to put it into the frame, NO ONE noticed it.  Well, that day I noticed it and who knows how many of the guest did too.  Oh well, they still knew what to do and it still turned out very nice.

Here's the new, "Mr. and Mrs. Paul Daniels", or as my other niece put it, "The Brad and Angelina of our family".

 

Congratulations Kristy and Paul!  Here's wishing you many years happiness together!

RETIRING LACE RIBBON PUNCH MEETS SCALLOP DOTS RIBBON FLOWER

As mentioned in THIS POST the Lace Ribbon Border Punch (122362) is retiring.  So, before it's gone for good, I want share this lovely card I made with all of you.

I'm quite pleased with the way it turned out.  The vase was made by first punching the shape out with the Extra-Large Oval Punch (119859) then cutting straight across the top and bottom.  I then glued the "lace" on top of it with the Multipurpose Liquid Glue (110755) and trimmed around the edges.  To show off a little more of the detail for this tone-on-tone look, I lightly sponged Melon Mambo Classic Ink on top of it.  Then to dress it up even further I added the pearls.  If you missed the tutorial I did for the ribbon flowers about a month ago, you can CLICK HERE to learn how you too can make these fun flowers with our 1/2" Scallop Dots Ribbon.  Don't you just love that look?

For the lace punch on the left side of the card I threaded our 1/8" Taffeta Ribbon through and then, once again added the pearls.

BTW, the stamp of the stem and leaves are from the Fabulous Florets Stamp Set, which I'm happy to report, will be in the new catalog.

The Pillow Box Bigz Die (113466) is yet another item that will be retiring once the new 2012 - 2013 Stampin' Up! Catalog becomes available to order from, come June 1st.  It's fun, simple box that's great for making up quick party favors.
